Its features provide rapid detection. A flash/no flash test result is obtained within one minute for flash points below 212°F (100°C) with 2 mL of sample. Ideally suited for quality assurance and environmental compatibility testing as well as actual flaring for paints, fragrances, hydrocarbon and other liquids. While open container models evaluate the combustion properties, many different flash points are used to determine the sustained burning properties of flammable and non-flammable liquids or mixtures. It features semi-automatic operation suitable for flash/flash tests. Set the test temperature on the digital screen and inject 2mL or 4mL sample into the sample container. This tester quickly stabilizes itself at a desired value, allowing the test flame to be applied and the result to be monitored by the operator. The unit also makes conventional determinations of actual flash temperature via small-scale indoor testing method.
Two models are offered: The Closed Cup Model is for routine flash point tests in the range of -30 to +300°C (-22 to +572°F); the Open Cup Model is for sustained combustion tests in the range of room temperature to 212°F (100°C). Both models include a °C/°F selector switch, automatic temperature control with syringe, electronic timer, integral NIST thermometer, and an external hose adapter valve for connection to a customer-supplied fuel cylinder or other fuel source.
